This is a date journal for me. As I write the dates down on each event, I will be looking for the invisible red thread, or God's finderprints throughout this adoption. When we sent in our application for the adoption of GracieJoy it was the same date as her birth.
We look for those fingerprints of God as an encouragement and as a blessing as we are in fellowship with the living God. Praise to the God of everlasting mercy, love, and grace!

Sept. 22, 2006 We are DTC today! A huge milestone! Today our adoption agency sent our dossier to China. We are in group 181. Next week we should receive the names of people in our group. We will be traveling to China together. It will take anywhere between 3-6 weeks to be Logged into the Chinese system. The LID is the date where the count down begins. Right now the wait time is 12-14 months. So we aren't in the count down yet, but it will be soon.
Nov. 16, 2006 Yippie we received a notice today telling us that we are LID Oct. 19, 2006. This is the date that we will be counting the months to referral. We were told that the wait time from LID is 14-15 months and extending. So we will just see how it goes.
March 8, 2007 Well we have been in the wait mode for a while. We've been waiting for almost 5 months. When we adopted GracieJoy we waited 6 months and then received her referral. But God has a different plan in this adoption. We are being told a 16 month wait that is still increasing. God is teaching me that his timing is perfect. During this wait we found out that we were going to be grandparents in May! Wow, the Lord is truly pouring His blessings on us.
April 23-25: AWAA has asked all who are interested to join with them to do an Esther Fast. I had the privilege to join them with other people who are adopting and are interested in helping orphans. This was sent to me from AWAA;
Just as Esther and the Jewish people prayed and fasted and had a ruling overturned, our prayer is that the policies preventing orphans from entering families will be changed (Esther 8:5-8).
Another passage that has been an encouragement to our agency is from the prophet Isaiah—showing us the hope that God can do new things—and providing a way through terrain that seems impossible:
"This is what the LORD says—He who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters… See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland." -Isaiah 43:16 & 19
